The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Just wanted to give a quick update on how everyone is doing.  IC is growing right on schedule.  He hasn’t been weighed in a couple of weeks but I have a sneaking suspicion that he is somewhere around 11 lbs.  He is 5 1/2 months old but should only be 3 and so he development is right on track for a 3 month old.  He loves to be held on your lap  so that he can sit upright and see what is going on.  He also loves to smack the keyboard while I am on the computer which makes it a little difficult to type but we manage.  He is trying so hard to roll over but he just can’t seem to figure out how to move his shoulder out of the way. He has rolled over a couple of times by accident, twice from back to front and once from front to back. He gets his round of 6 month vaccines after Christmas so we will find out then how much he has gained. He absolutely loves to be talked to.  He especially loves for his big brother OD to talk to him.  We have also recently discovered that IC LOVES to be sung to.  He seems to try to sing along.  It is quite possibly one of the funniest things that I have seen. Reflux is still an issue for IC.  He continues to take the medication and his crib mattress is elevated at one end since he is too big for the wedge.  This is more of a joke than a help lately because he is so active in his sleep that I will find him with his head down and his feet up.  We will just have to wait and see what the doctor says.

OD is finally toilet trained. ( I hesitate to say this because the last time I did, he decided after about 4 weeks that he wanted to use diapers again and refused the toilet.)  Hopefully, this time, it sticks.

We are gearing up for our big trip to Michigan.  It is less than 2 weeks away and OD is SOO excited.  It will be nice to see family we haven’t seen in nearly 13 months.  Merry Christmas to all who are still reading!  Remember to take some time for yourself this holiday and enjoy your precious families.  Time goes by too quickly.
